This week, New Yorkers can help Hurricane Sandy victims in NYC and beyond

For the remainder of the week (till November 30), my dear friend Shadin Hossain is holding a benefit to raise funds for The American Red Cross’s hurricane relief efforts. I met Shadin several years ago when I profiled him for the New York Daily News. For several years, he has hosted beautiful events at his art and framing shop, Galleria, to benefit people in need around the world. Galleria is located on Third Avenue in Manhattan between 35th and 36th Streets, on the east side of the street.

For the rest of the month, on any 5 by 7, 8 by 10, or 11 by 14 inch picture, Shadin will donate a free frame and framing services (while supplies last) if you make a $25 donation. He will arrange donation of the $25 to The American Red Cross for its hurricane and disaster relief efforts in New York City and beyond. This is a fantastic opportunity to help people in need and also to get a terrific deal on framing (Shadin’s framing services and the frames themselves are valued at $80-100).

If you’re like me, then after your lights and running water came back on, you pledged to do something to help fellow New Yorkers or New Jerseyans still struggling with flooded homes, lack of water, lack of power, etc. Maybe you saw scenes of the chaos on television or saw your friends struggling. Here’s your chance to contribute while getting a great deal on framing. Shadin is an excellent artist, too, whose work (please see one example above) you’ll see displayed in his beautiful store.

So enjoy! & tell Shadin I sent ya.:)
