Congratulations on securing an interview with Yoo and eliciting some good responses.

Your questions honed in on some of the critical issues the Department of Justice is now facing in trying terrorist suspects.

NYC mayor Republican/Independent Mike Bloomberg supports Obama's decision to prosecute the suspected terrorists in NYC, believing that the benefits outweigh the risks:

“I support the Obama Administration’s decision to prosecute 9/11 terrorists here in New York. It is fitting that 9/11 suspects face justice near the World Trade Center site where so many New Yorkers were murdered. We have hosted terrorism trials before, including the trial of Omar Abdel-Rahman, the mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. When I spoke to Attorney General Holder earlier today, I told him New York City stands ready to assist the federal court in the administration of justice in any way necessary. I have great confidence that the NYPD, with federal authorities, will handle security expertly. The NYPD is the best police department in the world and it has experience dealing with high-profile terrorism suspects and any logistical issues that may come up during the trials.

The Department of Justice under the Bush administration successfully prosecuted terrorists in NYC.

What Yoo didn't explain was whether he disagreed with the Bush administration's decision to try the terrorist suspects in NYC and if he did, how and why his analysis is different today.

With that said, Bloomberg is asking for $216,000,000 from the federal government to pay for extra security in NYC during the trials. Perhaps that is reason enough to hold them somewhere else.

What a fine public servant Mr. Yoo is. Why is it that patriots such as he are rarely fully appreciated in their own time? Let's hope he lives long enough to see real, wide-spread gratitude for his service to our country. Thank you for pointing it out.

Heather -- great entry and super job in covering the Yoo event last night. I attended and he brought to light once again how wonderful a person he is... regardless of how the mainstream media has portrayed him. The reality is everytime he meets with people, they realize what a fine, thoughtful scholar he truly is...Brooke Goldstein had it right last evening when she thanked him for his service to the nation.

Wonderful interview .... well done.
